Rebuilt the platform's entire employee intelligence layer in a week
Overview
I owned the employee data layer end to end: studied the raw data, defined new metrics from customer requirements, designed the chart components, and shipped the connected drill-downs across the platform.
My role
Owned data discovery, the metric hierarchy, visualisation design, interaction specs, and the platform-wide migration.

All case studies are shared under NDA. Read more
All case studies are shared under NDA for portfolio review purposes only. The platform serves investment professionals conducting research, deal sourcing, and portfolio monitoring. Exact metrics values are withheld and replaced with proxy phrasing due to confidentiality constraints. Happy to walk through the details personally.
TL;DR
Problem given
The platform's existing employee data-source was being deprecated. Employee metrics had to be migrated to the new source and replaced across the product.
Problem framed
The forced migration meant we could redesign the entire employee data layer from first principles accommodating for the high-effort user requests piled up, with fewer technical constraints.
Constraints
Fixed deprecation date for old data source; variable data quality across companies; one-week timeline was non-negotiable
My role
Owned data discovery, metric hierarchy design, visualisation design, interaction specs, platform-wide migration coordination
What shipped
Complete employee data layer: new metric hierarchy, new visualisations, connected drill-downs, flagship Employee Movement feature, platform-wide metric replacement
Impact
LinkedIn's share of platform views grew from 22% to 51%, peaking at 57% in launch month and becoming the platform's #1 data source; client firms adopted the feature into their investment-committee workflows, and analyst adoption held at 57–62% even as overall platform usage declined
