All case studies are shared under NDA for portfolio review purposes only. The platform serves investment professionals conducting research, deal sourcing, and portfolio monitoring. Exact metrics values are withheld and replaced with proxy phrasing due to confidentiality constraints. Happy to walk through the details personally.

TL;DR

Problem given

The platform was powerful, desktop-bound, and had a basic iOS app alongside it. It served both analysts and partners, but the web product and the iOS app were built for deep desk sessions and did not fit the moments that mattered most to partners: the five minutes before a pitch meeting, the taxi ride after a conference, the quick check at dinner when someone mentioned a company name.

Problem framed

The legacy iOS-only app had failed because it was retrofitted with as many web capabilities as possible onto a mobile screen instead of being designed for the mobile context. The ask was to build a real mobile product for an investment professional's daily workflow, purpose-built for the partner use case.

Constraints

Heavy mobile IA, old mobile component library; dual-platform launch required; eight-week timeline was non-negotiable

My role

Owned mobile IA, interaction design, design system architecture, component specs, cross-functional coordination

What shipped

Net-new iOS and Android apps focused on the partner use case, with two-tab navigation, mobile-specific information hierarchy, complete CRM workflow, calendar-integrated meeting prep, and a parallel design system with dark mode built into the token foundation

Impact

Monthly active users grew from 9 to 53 in the ten months following launch; adoption peaked at 51%, the highest rate on record for the product; the app was cited in client renewal conversations
